My name is Jeremy Gaveske, Sports Director with the Oshkosh YMCA. My journey with the YMCA started in the Health and Wellness department in 2021. In the fall of 2021, I was promoted to Sports Coordinator, and in the spring of 2023 promoted to Sports Director. I received my Bachelor of Arts degree from UWSP in 2014 and my Masters in Exercise Science with a Strength and Conditioning and Rehab concentration in 2023. I competed for the Men’s Volleyball Club at UWSP and also was a Student Assistant coach for the UWSP Women’s Volleyball team in 2019 which won the WIAC tournament and made it to the Sweet 16 in the NCAA tournament.
As Sports Director, I am responsible for the planning, development, implementation, expansion, and evaluation of youth and adult sports programs. We believe everyone should have an opportunity to compete in organized sports and work hard to build impactful and meaningful relationships with program participants.
I believe in promoting a healthy lifestyle whether it be through exercise or sports in a fun environment, and the YMCA does just that! Our youth can learn a lot of life lessons through sports, and keeping adults active promotes healthy living!
When I’m not at work, you can find me hunting, fishing, spending time with family, or at a volleyball tournament!
