Hi, I’m Lindsey McMullin, the Wellness & Healthy Living Program Director at the Oshkosh YMCA. I have been part of the YMCA team since 2011. The health and wellness center is my happy place and you will find me there overseeing the center and all its programming and also the healthy living programming at the Y. Those programs include the Teaching Kitchen and the Chronic Disease programming for individuals battling Parkinson's and local cancer survivors. I am a University of Wisconsin Oshkosh graduate with a degree in Kinesiology, am a certified personal trainer through the American College of Sports Medicine, and am a Livestrong at the YMCA certified coach.
Health and wellness looks different for everyone, and I am passionate about helping people set and achieve their goals. Whether it’s in personal training sessions, leading strength-building classes for all ages, organizing healthy cooking classes in the Teaching Kitchen or helping those battling chronic diseases, I want to help people live their best lives.
The opportunity that I have to connect and work with people of all ages at the Y is unmatched. There is such a strong sense of collaboration in the community, and that only makes us a stronger. If we see a need, we have the ability to address that need, no questions asked. To me, that is so empowering and mission fulfilling.
When I’m not at the YMCA, you will find me working on house projects or out in my gardens. I am working to develop my green thumb and enjoy learning all things flower and vegetable gardens. I also enjoy exploring the natural beauty of Wisconsin by visiting the State Parks.
